For more than 90 years, New York Times journalists have appreciated the battering beauty of ice hockey. "New York's hankering for virile and bruising pastime appears to have a realization in hockey," The Times reported in 1926.
The Times added a good-natured slap shot, "The puck pursuers have almost cornered the thrill market. There is actually no sport which quite carries such an element of danger, unless it is the daily riot in the Times Square subway station at 5:30 p.m. The one advantage the hockey players have over the subway guards is they carry sticks."
As you look through this 12" x 15" hardcover book, it will take you back to your favorite team's glory days. You'll find as-it-happened game stories, in-depth features, obituaries, playoff results and rarely seen reprinted pages pulled from the extensive New York Times archives.
Books range from 70-80 pages and are bound in a stately leatherette binding. The covers reflect a team's basic color. Each book comes with a 2.5" x 7.5" magnifier and a certificate of authenticity.
Each year after the playoffs, books are updated if significant events occur. Produced in Vermont.
